Monday Bitch #3:
Attention is currency, and each feed pays in something else: Instagram buys applause, TikTok buys talk, LinkedIn buys outcomes.
Instagram is the gallery wall, shiny, quiet, needy. Post a picture, toss in 🌈✨🩶, and call it connection. It isn’t. It’s applause bait.
TikTok is the diary room with a megaphone. Everyone writes now. Captions, comments, confessions. Process, price, pain, endless scroll. The algorithm feasts on your story, and half your audience answers with paragraphs.
LinkedIn quit the beige lobby. Now it’s the grown-up table: grants, shows, contracts, outcomes. Fewer sparkles, more sentences. It’s useful, annoying, and definitely adult.
And let's not forget, the website. The quiet room nobody brags about, but everybody checks. Your work, your words, your archive. No algorithm, no emoji armor. If it’s empty or outdated, that’s the truth you’re actually publishing.
So pick your poison:
Instagram shows.
TikTok explains.
LinkedIn connects.
Your website decides.
You wanted out of the performance. Too late, the performance is the medium. Post if you have to. Write if you dare. Update your site because ghosts don’t get grants.
I’m curious: where do you feel most understood - Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn?
Heart lighter. Algorithm unimpressed.
