A room of controlled instability
Figures appear, dissolve, retreat. The exhibition unfolds as a sequence of unstable presences, suspended between intimacy and distance.
At Wentrup, Jeehye Song stages bodies that refuse solidity. Contours soften, limbs blur, surfaces absorb rather than reflect light. The exhibition unfolds through restraint, not narrative.

Works such as ADHD (2023) and I am safe (2024) hold the viewer in a space where identity appears temporarily unmoored. Pigment becomes skin, fabric becomes extension, interior becomes threshold. Instability is not dramatized; it is sustained. Distances between the works reinforce this condition. Each image remains isolated, yet structurally connected within the room.
The exhibition does not escalate. It remains steady. What lingers is not resolution, but a persistent presence under tension.
Why to watch
Jeehye Song’s current presentation at Wentrup marks a precise moment in her practice: restraint, control, and a refusal to fix the body into clarity.
