Curatorial Context:
This exhibition brings together works that deal with brokenness — not as failure, but as a condition.
It focuses on objects and installations that no longer function as expected, that resist use, repair, or completion. These works speak about moments when something goes wrong quietly, producing discomfort, hesitation, and a sense that order has been disturbed.
The exhibition emerged from a desire to reflect on the often overlooked reverse side of curating. While the word curating is rooted in cure — care, healing, maintenance — this project turns its attention to what cannot be fully cared for or restored. How do we respond to moments of awkwardness or disruption? The works presented here invite viewers to stay with this discomfort rather than resolve it, revealing brokenness as a productive and critical space.

Why this exhibition matters now
Objects promise function. These works refuse it. In a moment obsessed with efficiency and repair, Call Someone pauses inside malfunction, awkwardness and minor collapse. The exhibition suggests that broken systems are not problems to fix but spaces where new forms of attention begin.
