Laura Weiss, born 1999 in Vienna, is currently studying fine arts at the Art University Linz.
She has had various group- and solo-shows in Europe and is the winner of the Koschatzky Art Award 2021. Elongated limbs and cars that walk rather than roll.
Everything is big and the buildings are tall.
A world in which I too would probably fit very well. In photos of my class in grade school I always stood in the very back, two heads taller than all the others, including the teacher.
When I was a child, they took X-rays of my wrists and estimated they were adultsize.
The estimate at the time was 1.94 m. A shame, really, since in the end I only made it to 1.82 m.
Somehow I am also painting myself, into this world of tall people in which everyone wants to be even taller.
Now I have to scuffle with cheeky Hunzi, who is getting into mischief with Benzi & Co.
