With her unusual color palette, Negra Bernhard paints scenes inspired by personal experiences, memories and dreams.
Somewhere between Orient and Occident, her paintings are an exploration of what is going on inside of and around her.
Her work oscillates equally between sarcasm, insecurity and alienation from the world we live in, aiming to explore what connects us.
Negra Bernhard was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina, in 1986 and emigrated to Austria with her family in 1992.
She lives and works in Vienna.
From 2017 to 2022 Negra Bernhard studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Prof. Daniel Richter (diploma with distinction).
