Noah Kashiani | Artist Spotlight preview
The artist Noah Kashiani's works are made from materials he sources from thrift stores around Chicago. In his most recently made objects, simple color schemes were employed to unify the original up-cycled materials. His work is a testament to high fashion, not only aesthetically but also by placing emphasis on materialism and late capitalism. Adding a subtle yet seductive finish to his sculptures so as to fuel our humanistic desire for seemingly lavish objects. In several works he pays homage to symbols in society that are associated with religion and restriction, both commenting on the irony of societal obligations. Overindulgence, hoarding, and lack of domestic organization are represented in the sometimes-chaotic cluster of objects.
